About Me
It has always been in my nature to support people, and after years of experience as a support worker, I decided to complete my Masters in Person-Centred Experiential Psychotherapy at the University of Nottingham. In a professional setting, I have experience working with adults both long and short term, with a variety of different needs, struggles and experiences.

From my own experience, I know that therapy can be a difficult process, so my goal is to put you at ease. Whatever your background, whatever your experiences, you are welcome.
My Approach
I'm trained as a Person-Centred therapist, which means my approach to working with you is based on a set of principles that puts you at the centre of the therapeutic relationship. As humans, building quality relationships is important, and our relationship as client and therapist is no exception. I believe that if we are treated with empathy, acceptance, respect and honesty, we are able to grow towards becoming the best version of ourselves. I also believe that you are the expert in your life, and it is my role to facilitate a deeper understanding of your experiences. While our sessions are first and foremost collaborative, the focus, pace and content of the sessions are led by you.

As a therapist I'm always learning and developing, and this is an important part of good practice. I have a particular interest in working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence and it is important to me to create a safe, open space for survivors to share their experiences.
Part of my interest as a therapist is working creatively in sessions. Creativity can be a really helpful way to express things we might struggle to with words. This can look different for different people; we might use music, art, dance, creative writing etc. Working in this way is certainly not for everyone, and if it's not for you, then it doesn't have to be part of our work. If you're thinking about it but don't feel sure, it can be intimidating; if it is something you feel you'd like to explore, I have a variety of materials available for us to include in our sessions.
